Since 211 is still not available in all areas, here is another relatively easy way to locate assistance in your local area:
do a google map search for nonprofits/charitable organizations in your zip code:
- go to google maps
- type in your city and state
- click on "search nearby" in the pop-up window
- then type in "charitable & non-profit organizations"
- The search will locate all non-profit organizations in your area with name, address, phone # and website (if available), plus directions, and distance from your location!
you can also use this to locate any other service or organization in or near your area....
